Incubus' Boyd Didn't Skip A Beat
During the wonderfully anticipated and highly intimate acoustic version of the band's #1 hit single 'Drive', the lead singer Brandon Boyd stopped the song to halt a fight that erupted near the front of the stage. Jeers from the crowd toward the blatantly immature fighting duo quickly turned to cheers as not only were the two ejected, but Boyd made a quip about the violence in the song. The interruption occurred at what I perceived to be the heart of Kenney's part. Even though the fans were redirected as the trio on stage at the time (Boyd, Kenney, and Einziger) successfully resumed song, the damage was done.
Aside from Keller and The Keels' incredible talent, some in the crowd were less than stellar at last night's show. The details of this show (size of the crowd, lighting, stage set-up, and the occasional video) were certainly stimulating and hit on all my cylinders. However, one part of the show proved to be a bit more stimulating than I was prepared. As the band's name implies, Boyd, the 'dream lover', took off his undershirt toward the end of the show, exposing a figure surely carved out of Greek mythology. Encore, Keller and The Keels!
